CEO William Bain’s article in Military Embedded Systems explains how real-time digital twins with AI/ML offer a transformative advantage for military decision-makers. These software-defined, in-memory representations of battlefield assets process continuous streams of live telemetry in milliseconds, enabling commanders to identify issues and manage logistics in real time.

By leveraging machine learning (ML) and generative AI (Gen AI), digital twin technology provides a tactical edge through predictive analytics, anticipating threats by analyzing historical movement patterns, terrain data, and live surveillance. Its ability to combine continuous monitoring with Gen AI boosts situational awareness and accelerates decision-making. Gen AI also assists in creating visualizations and detecting subtle anomalies to proactively identify unexpected troop movements.

Additionally, digital twins improve mission resilience by shifting defense logistics from reactive to predictive, using ML models to forecast equipment failures and analyze battlefield supply chains. By continuously updating and analyzing live battlefield data, these systems empower commanders to enhance mission resilience.
